Poland Drives E-Mobility

Poland Drives E-Mobility

Poland’s fleet of over 20 million vehicles holds significant potential for electrification. Furthermore, with proposed EU regulations, the total capacity of charging stations in Poland is expected to more than double by 2025. The “Poland Drives E-Mobility” report, prepared on behalf of the PSPA, highlights the areas offering the most promising opportunities for e-mobility development in Poland from the perspective of foreign investors.

The latest edition of the cyclical study specifically considers the opportunities presented by the Polish market for companies from Western Europe. With fewer than 60,000 electric vehicles and an infrastructure network of fewer than 6,000 charging points, Poland is still in the early stages of sustainable transport development. Additionally, our country constitutes one of the largest markets for both light and heavy transport, posing significant challenges in these sectors. Out of over 1.2 million trucks registered in Poland, only around 100 are equipped with an electric drive. Moreover, substantial investments and changes are required in the grid and energy mix.

However, the electrification of transportation in Poland is being facilitated by support mechanisms being introduced, such as subsidy programs implemented by the Polish public administration. These include the “My EV” program, designed to provide subsidies to EV buyers, and the subsidy program for hydrogen charging and refueling infrastructure. Additionally, Poland boasts a significant production potential in the e-mobility sector. Our country is Europe’s leading supplier of electric buses and lithium-ion batteries. Furthermore, we manufacture numerous components, electrified drives, and charging stations. The F5A report indicates that Poland is driving the e-mobility market, but it can do so more effectively by strengthening cooperation with foreign industry leaders
